By examining a broad range of sources, it attempts to trace how Marx thought about the law, starting with his central references to Hegel’s legal philosophy and the German Historical School of Jurisprudence. It also aims to make transparent the development of this thinking throughout his oeuvre and to reconstruct its significance within Marx’s theory of society.
